For the uninitiated sheep dog trials are a little like equestrian events but far more laid back. Where horse jumping evokes the hunt, dog trials are based on the shepherding of sheep; a fine and ancient tradition.
What is central to the sport, and what I hope comes through in these photographs is the devotion that exists between dog handlers and their dogs. And of course a field of sheep.
